I suppose you would call me a horse racing systems ”nut” but I would refer to myself as a businessman first and foremost having spent the last 10 years as a successful company director. Hi I’m Andrew aka James Bond on certain forums and blogs ha ha!.
Gone are the days when you could call savings accounts and low risk share dealing a safe investment product.
With this in mind I see my main role as helping the subscribers to my service make a healthy profit over a 12 month period often by backing more than one runner in a race. I don’t like to take unnecessary risks with my investments and I don’t expect subscribers to either. On my site you can see the results from over 1,500 bets so far.
I can honestly say that I’ve never been in a high street bookmaker or ever been to the races in my life. I read basic form but am not a form guru in any way. My speciality is removing the emotional attachment from investing by employing long-term selection systems and non aggressive staking.
As someone once said “turnover is vanity, profit is reality and cash is king”. I keep this at the centre of my thoughts when delving into racing investments. If a horse won it’s last race I’m unlikely to be backing it next time out simply because I’m looking for profit and in my opinion 8 times out of 10 the value has disappeared when the afforementioned horse runs again.
You won’t find me telling you that horse “x” is a certainty to win because of this and that reason, quite frankly I couldn’t care less who wins as long as the price is value for money and it’s on my selections list.
As with all investment products there are periods of uncertainty and downturn. I find myself in the camp which knows that winning is all about how you manage these tricky periods and I try and instill this into the members’ psyche. In other words profits rarely come in smooth installments. Winners have excellent strategies to manage this dichotomy.
